Advancing Hybrid Cloud and AI

SYNAPSE 2026 Hybrid Cloud Day marks a new milestone in our regional journey, and in Brunei's digital evolution.

On 16 April 2026, Xtremax joined government leaders, industry experts, and global technology partners at The Empire Brunei for SYNAPSE 2026 Hybrid Cloud Day, an event organised by Comquest Sdn Bhd in partnership with Dynamik Technologies to examine the significant role of hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence in driving Brunei's digital evolution.

The event was graced by the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in supporting the goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035.

A Meaningful Partnership with Comquest

The day marked an important milestone for Xtremax with the formal signing of a Partnership Agreement with Comquest Sdn Bhd, reinforcing our shared commitment to advancing cloud adoption and strengthening the foundations of Brunei's digital ecosystem.

The event also highlighted a broader collaboration across the ecosystem, including a Memorandum of Understanding between Comquest and Dynamik Technologies, and a Service Agreement between Comquest and imagine Sdn Bhd. Together, these agreements reflect a collective push towards a more resilient, future-ready digital economy, anchored on the implementation of AWS Outposts to meet data residency requirements and deliver the low-latency performance that Brunei's highly regulated sectors demand.

Lessons from Singapore's Public Sector Cloud Journey

Our CEO, James Leong, joined the panel "From Bandwidth to Breakthroughs: Accelerating Brunei's Digital Economy through Hybrid Cloud," moderated by Awang Hafiz Haslen, CEO of ndpx and Director of Comquest, alongside industry leaders from AWS and Dynamik Technologies.

Drawing on Xtremax's experience as a Singapore Government Tech Stack (SGTS) Co-Creation Partner, James shared lessons from years of supporting Singapore's public sector, scaling cloud environments securely, operating reliably at government-grade standards, and delivering measurable impact at scale.

A key takeaway from the panel: the availability of secure, local infrastructure has shifted the industry conversation from theoretical readiness to practical, high-performance capability.

Why Hybrid Cloud Matters for Brunei

Hybrid cloud is no longer just an infrastructure choice, it is a strategic enabler of digital sovereignty.

For nations pursuing ambitious visions like Wawasan Brunei 2035, the ability to keep data within national borders, maintain low-latency performance for critical workloads, and unlock AI-powered innovation locally is increasingly non-negotiable. By combining the agility of public cloud with the control of on-premises environments, hybrid cloud empowers highly regulated sectors, from finance to government, to innovate without compromise.

The exclusive unveiling of AWS AI-Factories at the event signalled what comes next: a future where sovereign infrastructure and next-generation AI converge to unlock new categories of value. For Brunei, this is an opportunity to leapfrog, not by copying other markets, but by building a digital economy that reflects its own priorities, regulations, and ambitions.

Looking Ahead

From helping Singapore's public sector unlock agility on the cloud to now supporting Brunei's ambitions, we believe the most meaningful transformations happen when technology partners bring not just tools, but proven playbooks and shared accountability.

As Brunei continues to advance its digital agenda, Xtremax is honoured to walk this journey together with Comquest and the wider ecosystem, bringing our regional expertise and public-sector experience to help Bruneian organisations move faster, from concept to execution, on a secure and world-class foundation.

The future of Brunei's digital economy is being built today. We are excited to be part of it.
