Application Management & Migration Project for AGC
Xtremax’s dedicated team for the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) was able to take a hands-on and holistic approach to the maintenance, improvement, and integration of over 21 company applications, including conducting bulk migrations of databases from on-premises to the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC).
BACKGROUND
AGC is a Singapore government agency entrusted with defending the public interest and safeguarding the law. Led by the Attorney-General, the AGC serves a dual role as the Government’s principal legal advisor, as well the country’s chief prosecutor for criminal offences.Decision to Change
Over time, AGC’s IT infrastructure had become too unwieldy to manage efficiently, and the office lacked the internal resources to solve its main challenges. Key issues to fix included the existence of applications without source codes; ineffective migration and execution due to the presence of multiple managers and stakeholders; and difficulty managing multiple applications at once.
In the face of these issues, the AGC remains highly invested in implementing general industry best practices: the changes they demanded reflect their commitment to meeting global standards in legal industry IT.
